After the last tour, I had my first really bad crash. I had completely lost the idea of making music at all. Nothing motivated me anymore. I was at war with myself and somehow lost. The present, where you're supposed to live, was so shitty that I was thinking and feeling my way into the past. This gave rise to the idea of taking a look at what I was actually doing back then. So I forced myself to go to the studio and listen to old demos. I guess the past saved my life a little bit, it made me see the future again. That's why the album is called The Persistence of Memory - the only thing that held me in that time was my memories. Going back to the past eventually showed me the future.
